Interactive multi touch foils can be incorporated into most any video on glass display by incorporating a touch screen film on the back side of the glass. In a storefront window display where a user will be interacting with the touch screen from outside the store, the user will never touch the technology itself. Everything needed to transform your storefront glass into an interactive touch screen will be installed safely and securely inside the store. multi touch foils are specifically designed to sense the touches made on the outside of the glass with thru-glass touch screen technology.

Multi touch foil is 98% transparent and the user will most often never know how you are able to sense a touch outside your storefront. Touch screen film can be incorporated with transparent rear projection film to create a holographic touch screen display. Multi touch foil is about the thickness of card stock paper and can be applied to most clear surfaces including glass or acrylic.

Multi touch foils can be ordered with temporary cling or permanent adhesive layer depending on your usage and application, if you are selling the touch film product and installing it for your clients most often we would recommend the permanent application method.

Multi touch foil is available in a number of standard sizes in 4:3 and 16:9 and can also be custom ordered to your exact requirements if needed. Most standard size touch screen films are available within a week or so from order date and custom touch films can usually be expected to arrive within 3 weeks. Projected Capacitive Touch Foils have changed quite a bit in the last few years, here are some of the latest advancements.

Palm & Arm rejection

The sensor has the ability to recognize and reject large areas of touch contact, like palms or arms, while finger touch detection remains working. Users can lean over a table and not affect the touch experience. This feature can be disabled in the control panel.

Advanced Calibration mode included

Create customized touchscreen installations. This feature gives the flexibility of using a sensor smaller than the display and control touch in just the sensor area. Or, alternatively, the option of having multiple displays in a grid and detect touch only in part of that display area.

Unaffected by light conditions

Interactive equipment using Multi Touch Foils can be placed anywhere as they are unaffected by lighting conditions. They can be placed outdoor, under direct sunlight, or in extreme light conditions.

Through non conductive materials

Multi Touch Foil technology works with non conductive materials, like glass, wood or special materials like Corian. Typical applications include applying the sensor on a glass,and touch is detected on the other side of the glass. This glass is usually between 4mm and 8mm but it can be up to 20mm.

Side or Bottom Tail What?

Where Do You Want To Connect Your Touch Film

Your touch screen film will need to be connected to a computer and display for it to achieve the desired result. This is achieved by connecting your touch film to a computer; your touch screen film will have a PCB Board on either the side or the bottom where you will find a mini USB connection.

This is what is referred to as the tail; your touch film has an overall area which includes both active and inactive areas and the tail. The active area is just inside the overall area and is best described as the only portion of the interactive touch film that will recognize a user’s touch and communicate that interaction to the computer.

Multi Touch Foil technology is amazing in that all the technology is installed safely behind the glass and yet people can engage the screen by touching it through the glass. Multi Touch screen foil is approximately the thickness of a piece of card stock paper, although it is often referred to as a multi  touch foil it is better called touch film as it is not similar to foil in any way. An Interactive multi touch foil is almost completely transparent in color and can be installed with a holographic rear projection film for use as a holographic touch screen on glass. Multi Touch Foil technology is connected to the computer with a standard USB cable, once you have installed the touch screen film on the glass or Plexiglas connect the touch screen film to the computer with the supplied USB cable. Available in standard and widescreen sizes from 30″ up to 100″ diagonal, custom touch foil size touch screens are available upon request.
